Sharon Lawrence

Sharon Elizabeth Lawrence is an American actor, dancer and acrobat, who is best known for her award-winning character Sylvia Costas on the show "NYPD Blue'. Since she was a child, she's had a passion for dance as well as acting. She was born into a storyteller family, her father being a theatre student and performed in the theatre. She was also the first in the family to translate her natural talents into the field of work. When she completed her studies in Raleigh in the early 1980s, she began an acting career, which was kickstarted by her appearances in a variety of musical productions. Lawrence began her stage career during the late 80s. Since since then, she's been featured in many TV series and films. When it comes to her stage accomplishments go, she has performed in different musicals such as 'Cabaret', 'A Song at Twilight", 'Fiddler on the Roof', and "Chicago". Her role of Sylvia Costas in the police procedural show 'NYPD Blue was rewarded with a Screen Actors Guild Award. Other television credits for her include Desperate housewives', Law and Order Special Victims Unit, ?Ladies Man ? and 'Rizzoli & Isles $.
